Gretchen is a product design leader and author who runs an independent practice consulting on product strategy and coaching teams to success. Previously, she ran a product development group for California’s largest energy company, led the design of the hardware and software of a next-generation surgical system, and was VP of Product at GreatSchools.org.
Early in her career, Gretchen worked for some of San Francisco’s top design consultancies including frog design, Cooper, and Punchcut. At frog and LUNAR, she took on challenging projects in the medical and wellness space, learning about how people face challenges and ultimately change behaviors. At Cooper, she apprenticed with many accomplished designers and helped craft their design methodology and educational offering.
Gretchen is a Bay Area native who left only long enough to get a bachelor’s degree from Harvard in History & Literature.
